Hummus ~ Fit Mom Adventures

I used to think that I had to buy hummus at the store. It seemed so fancy and I felt fancy just eating it. Then one day I saw a recipe for hummus and realized I could have it whenever I want because it is SO easy to make! I don't know whatever happened to that recipe I found. I have since made up my own with experimentation. The possibilities are endless for what to have with it-veggies, crackers, etc. I even spread it on sandwiches or wraps instead of mayo.


  • 2 cans chickpeas
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 cup dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt optional
  • 1/3 cup tahini or olive oil


  1. Drain chickpeas and rinse. Process all in food processor until desired consistency.

Recipe Notes

*Can add 1/2 jar of roasted red bell peppers *can use lime juice instead of lemon juice
